Physicist Stephen Hawking says the chances of disaster befalling planet Earth could rise to a “near certainty” in thousands of years, but warns that we need to be “very careful” over the next century over threats stemming from progress in science and technology.

When asked whether the world would end naturally or be destroyed by humans in an interview with Radio Times, the 74-year-old cosmologist shared his thoughts:”We face a number of threats: nuclear war, global warming and genetically engineered viruses,” Hawking told Radio Times, reports the Telegraph.

“Although the chance of a disaster on planet Earth in a given year may be quite low, it adds up over time, becoming a near certainty in the next thousand or ten thousand years…by that time we should have spread out into space, and to other stars, so it would not mean the end of the human race” said Hawking.

He believes that humanity is a 100 years away from living in space, but should be mindful about not destroying Earth in the interim. “We will not establish self-sustaining colonies in space for at least the next hundred years, so we have to be very careful in this period” Hawking said.

Jesus Appears To Muslim Family, Tells Them He Is Sending A Man To Tell Them More! WOW!!

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (ANS - February 7, 2016) -- Tyler Connell with the Ekballo Project has been touring college campuses around the U.S., sharing stories and video from his most recent trip to Middle East, where he documented a dramatic move of God among Muslims, particularly with refugees.

In the last few months, he and his team visited Harvard, MIT, Iowa State, Clemson, and the University of Georgia, among other campuses. “In every stop we saw the presence of Jesus break in to these college campuses and touch students, with bodies healed, people saved, and people giving their lives to serve in the mission field,” Connell exclaims.

College students are amazed to learn what God is doing in Iraq and the surrounding region. “Jesus is moving in these Middle East nations,” he says. “Many there are disillusioned and broken and just want to know the truth. Now more than ever there is a harvest among Muslims that has not been seen in history.”

His first film chronicles a young missionary named Daniel, 24, originally from Vermont. Two years ago Daniel moved to Jordan to work with Syrian refugees.

Refugee camp“They go house to house and visit these Muslim families and sit with them and talk with them and find out their names, their stories, and love them. As trust is built, they begin to open up about the Gospel.”

One afternoon Daniel walked into a white tent with a family of eight people inside. “Hi I’m Daniel and I’m here to tell you about Jesus,” he announced.

He wasn’t quite prepared for their reaction. “The family freaked out, they looked at each other, almost turned white. The father was excited, yelling.”

What’s going on? Daniel wondered.

The interpreter explained that the night before Daniel’s visit the whole family was sitting in their tent having tea together and a man in white opened the door to their tent and stood at the entrance. The man was glowing.

“Hello, My name is Jesus and I am sending a man tomorrow named Daniel to tell you more about me.” Then he disappeared.

Helpless Situations: U.S. State Department Denies Visas for Persecuted Assyrian Christians

(Washington, DC)—The U.S. State Department may have sent a signal to an Anglican bishop in Iraq that despite persecution and harassment from the terror group known as ISIS, Christians in that country will not find any support from the United States government.

According to Faith J.H. McDonnell of Philos Project, the Rt. Rev. Julian M. Dobbs, bishop of the Diocese of CANA East (Convocation of Anglicans in North America), revealed that part of U.S. foreign policy during an interaction with the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM). Dobbs made his case to the State Department on behalf of a group of Assyrian Christians who are desperate to leave northern Iraq.

“There is no way that Christians will be supported because of their religious affiliation,” the State Department said.

McDonnell reported that the Assyrian Christians received both the permission and blessing from their own bishop to leave Iraq. Until recently, church leaders in the region have urged Christians to stay in the Middle East; now they have concluded that their chances of survival are much better if they left.

“Christianity in Iraq is going through one of its worst and hardest stages of its long history, which dates back to the first century,” Archbishop Bashar Warda of Erbil said. “Throughout all these long centuries, we have experienced many hardships and persecutions, offering caravans of martyrs. Yet 2014 brought the worst acts of genocide against us in our history.”

Warda added that “Christianity as a religion and as a culture from Mesopotamia [ancient Iraq]” now faced “extinction” due to the ongoing threat posed by ISIS.

McDonnell elaborated on the plight of Christians and other minorities in the region since ISIS took over the Iraqi city of Mosul in June 2014.

“Christians, Yazidis, Mandeans and others were targeted for destruction, and within just the first week of ISIS’ occupation, more than 500,000 people fled the city,” McDonnell wrote. “The homes of Christians were marked with the Arabic letter ‘nun,’ standing for Nazarene. Christians were threatened with death if they did not convert to Islam, pay jizya and live as a subjected people—’dhimmi’—or flee immediately.”

[Video] Fisherman Lost at Sea for 438 Days Prayed to God Before Being Rescued

An El Salvadoran fisherman who was lost at sea for over a year says that he prayed to God for forgiveness before he eventually washed ashore 438 days after losing radio contact.
José Salvador Alvarenga, 36, and his colleague, the late Ezequiel Cordoba, 22, went on a fishing expedition off the coast of Mexico on Nov. 17, 2012. But, little did Alvarenga know that the fishing trip would take him on a 6,700-mile journey in the Pacific Ocean that ended with him washing ashore on the Marshall Islands.
Alvarenga, who explained his ordeal to Guardian reporter Jonathan Franklin to produce the best-selling book 438 Days: An Extraordinary True Story of Survival at Sea, recalled getting caught in a storm about 50 miles from the coast about two days after he launched to sea.
He said thousands of gallons of seawater were dumped into the boat as waves crashed into it, nearly causing the boat to sink. Cordoba acted frantically to dump the water out of the boat as as Alvarenga tried to navigate the boat back to shore.
Although the vessel eventually got close enough to the shore that Alvarenga could see a mountain in the horizon, it was then that the boat's motor died and Alvarenga was forced issue a mayday call on the radio.
He explained that his boss, Willy, said that he would send some help. While the two men waited for rescue, they were forced to dump their 1,100 pounds of fresh fish, ice and gasoline into the ocean since the the boat was rather top-heavy. Before the men could be rescued, the boat's radio died and they no longer had any radio contact.
As the storm continued through the next day, the men spent hours dumping water out of the boat. Despite the hours of work, the boat was still half-filled with water.

At that point, Alvarenga got angry and bashed his boat's motor in with a club and threw his radio overboard as a way to take out his frustration.
As nightfall came, gale-force winds blew off the coast and forced the boat even farther out to sea, giving the men little idea as to where their location really was.
As days went by, the men were forced to eat raw and sun dried fish, seabirds and turtles. They had to drink rain water and their own urine since seawater is undrinkable. The men were even forced to use the plastic garbage they found floating on the ocean to their advantage.
In one instance, the men found a plastic bag with a wad chewed up gum inside and split the gum in half so that they could each enjoy the taste in their mouths.
As more days went by, the two men bonded and talked about their lives. They even prayed together and asked God to forgive them for not being the best children to their mothers.
"We would talk about our mothers and how badly we had behaved," Alvarenga admitted. "We asked God to forgive us for being such bad sons. We imagined if we could hug them, give them a kiss. We promised to work harder so they would not have to work any more. But it was too late."
After two months at sea, Cordoba's body and mind started to fade. After Cordoba got sick from eating a raw meat, he decided that he was going to stop eating all together, even though Alvarenga offered him pieces of meat as he laid in weakness.
One morning, Cordoba told Alvarenga that he felt that his death was coming soon.
"He asked me to tell his mother that he was sad he could not say goodbye and that she shouldn't make any more tamales for him — they should let him go, that he had gone with God," Alvarenga recalled.
"Don't leave me alone! You have to fight for life! What am I going to do here alone?" Alvarenga shouted at Cordoba.
After Cordoba finally perished, Alvarenga held onto the corpse for five days because of his fear of being alone. Alvarenga recalled having conversations with the corpse. On the sixth day, Alvarenga dumped the body into the water.
"Why had he died and not me?" Alvarenga wondered. "I had invited him to fish. I blamed myself for his death."
Stranded at sea all alone, Alvarenga had to let his imagination wander so that he could turn his lonely boat into a fantasy world. He often envisioned an alternate reality where he was eating the best meals of his life and engaging in the best sex of his life.
"I would stroll back and forth on the boat and imagine that I was wandering the world," Alvarenga said. "By doing this I could make myself believe that I was actually doing something, not just sitting there, thinking about dying."
After over a year, Alvarenga finally saw a glimpse of land. Although he thought the island was a hallucination, his prayers were answered when he realized that actual land was on the horizon.
When he got closer to the island, Alvarenga jumped out the boat and paddled "like a turtle" to shore. Finally, a wave took Alvarenga and tossed on him onto a beach on Tile Islet, the southernmost point of the Marshall Islands, and he was later rescued by locals.
Had Alvarenga drfited South of Tile Islet, he would have likely had to travel another 3,000 miles until he hit the eastern coast of the Philippines.
"I was totally destroyed and as skinny as a board," Alvarenga said. "The only thing left was my intestines and gut, plus skin and bones. My arms had no meat. My thighs were skinny and ugly."

Palestinians Set fire on the burial site of biblical hero Joseph

TEL AVIV – Hundreds of Palestinian youth set fire on Friday to the Joseph’s Tomb complex, causing severe damage to the revered burial place.

Joseph’s Tomb, considered Judaism’s third holiest site, is the presumed burial place of the son of biblical Jacob, who was sold by his brothers into slavery and later became viceroy of Egypt.
Hundreds of young Palestinians surrounded the site and threw Molotov cocktails and other flammable objects at the tomb complex.
The attack comes amid a so-called wave of Palestinian terror fueled in large part by false rumors of a “Jewish threat” to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, considered Islam’s third holiest mosque. The mosque is located on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s most revered site.
According to local reports, Palestinian security forces intervened after the Palestinians started to break into the Joseph’s Tomb complex and began throwing firebombs inside the site.
Palestinian police took control by firing into the air to disperse the protesters. There were no reports of any arrests.
The Israel Defense Forces said it will make the necessary repairs to allow worshipers to visit the holy site.
Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, IDF spokesman to the foreign media, told WND in a statement: “The burning and desecration of Joseph’s tomb last night is a blatant violation and contradiction of the basic value of freedom of worship.”
Lerner said the IDF “will take all measures to bring the perpetrators of this despicable act to justice, restore the site to its previous condition and ensure that the freedom of worship returns to Joseph’s Tomb.”

Ben Carson: One can ‘guess that we’re getting closer’ to end times

In an interview on Sharyl Atkisson’s new Sunday show Full Measure, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson seemed to suggest the world could be approaching the biblical End of Days.

When discussing Carson’s belief that there should never be a Muslim president, Attkisson asked him about his own beliefs. “What is your view on what’s happening around the globe and in the U.S., in terms of what’s in the Bible? Do you think we’re at the End of Days?” she asked.
“You could guess that we are getting closer to that,” Carson said. “You do have people who have a belief system that sees this apocalyptic phenomenon occurring, and that they’re a part of it, and who would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if they gain [possession of] them.”
Attkisson asked Carson if he thought the apocalypse could be prevented, if it really was prophesied. “I think we have a chance to certainly do everything that we can to ameliorate the situation, to prevent — I would always be shooting for peace,” he said. “You know, I wouldn’t just take a fatalistic view of things.”
